Terms & conditions

Scope
These terms govern the use of sophytranslation.com and the purchase of translation and language services listed on it. By placing an order or submitting a quote request, you accept these terms.
Who we are
Sophytranslation, S.L., C. Gerona, 9, 47100 Tordesillas, Valladolid, Spain, CIF B-47892617. Contact: support@sophytranslation.com · +34983795520.
How services are described and priced
Each service is sold by a published unit — a certified page, a standard page, a video minute, an audio minute, a half-day, or a full day — as described on that service’s page and on the Pricing page. The unit price is multiplied by a required language tier (×1.00–×1.35) and, where applicable, a required turnaround speed (×1.00–×1.90). Optional add-ons (hard-copy delivery, apostille handling assistance, travel outside Valladolid province) are added as flat amounts where selected. Prices are shown net, with 21% IVA and any delivery charge itemized separately; the gross total shown at checkout is the amount you pay.
Order formation and acceptance
An order is placed when you complete checkout and receive an on-screen and emailed order confirmation with an order reference. We confirm the order and its final scope (in particular, final page or minute count once we’ve reviewed your document) within one business day; if the actual scope differs materially from what was ordered, we’ll agree the difference with you before starting work.
Document submission
This site does not accept file uploads during checkout. After placing an order, send your documents by replying to your confirmation email or writing to support@sophytranslation.com, quoting your order reference. Turnaround is counted from the point we receive your documents and confirm the final scope, not from the moment you place the order.
Your obligations
You’re responsible for sending legible source documents and, for certified/sworn translations, for confirming the correct spelling of names and other details that must match official records exactly. We’re not responsible for errors that result from illegible source material or incorrect information you provided.
Delivery formats
Digital deliverables are sent as PDF, Word, subtitle files (.srt/.vtt), or plain text, as appropriate to the service. A stamped hard copy is sent by courier only when ordered as an add-on.
Revision and complaint window
If you believe there’s an error in your delivered translation, tell us within 10 calendar days of delivery. We will review the specific issue and correct any demonstrable error at no charge. This window does not extend the withdrawal period described in our Refund policy.
Confidentiality
Documents and information you provide are treated as confidential and used only to produce your order. A signed NDA is available on request before you send any material.
Intellectual property
You retain all rights in your source material. You grant us the right to use it solely to produce your translation. The translated text is yours once delivered and paid for; we don’t retain rights to reuse it beyond the glossary/terminology records needed to serve any future orders from you.
Liability
Our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for a translation’s acceptance by a third party (an embassy, court, or registry) whose specific requirements were not communicated to us in advance.
Force majeure
Neither party is liable for delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Consumer disputes are handled according to your rights as a Spanish/EU consumer; the Junta Arbitral de Consumo de Castilla y León is available as a consumer arbitration route. For any matter not resolved through that route, the courts of Valladolid, Spain have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply where you live.
