REVISION & POST-EDITING

Proofreading & MTPE

An existing human or machine translation, checked and corrected to a professional standard — for text that’s close but not publishable, without paying for a from-scratch retranslation. Honestly priced as the lighter job it actually is.

From €18.15 / standard page — IVA included

(net €15.00 + 21% IVA) — ≈ €0.05 per word

Priced per standard page (300 source words of the text being checked), multiplied by language tier and turnaround. See the full tier and turnaround tables and the language tiers in detail.

Process

01

Order & specify the edit level

Choose light or full MTPE/proofreading, your language pair and turnaround; after ordering, send the translated text alongside its source.

02

Assignment

A linguist working in that language pair reviews both texts side by side.

03

Correction & independent check

Corrections are made and then checked by a second linguist before delivery.

04

Delivery

You receive the corrected document, ready to use.

Confidentiality & standards

This service is described honestly: it’s a check-and-correction pass on existing text, not a magic fix for a text that needs to be retranslated from scratch — if the source text is unusable, we’ll tell you before starting rather than charge for a light edit that won’t solve it. Confidentiality is standard; an NDA is available on request. Quote requests get a reply within one business day.

When to request a quote instead

Ask for a quote instead of ordering directly if you have:

  • A document set over 40 pages
  • Text so rough it will genuinely need a full retranslation rather than editing (we’ll tell you if this is the case)
  • A language pair outside the three tiers

Proofreading & MTPE FAQ

What’s the difference between light and full MTPE?

Light MTPE corrects meaning and major errors only, leaving style largely as the machine produced it — faster and cheaper. Full MTPE/proofreading also corrects style, tone and fluency to a publishable standard. Choose full if the text is customer-facing.

Will you tell me if the text needs full retranslation instead?

Yes — if the source translation is too poor to fix efficiently, we’ll say so before starting rather than bill for an edit that won’t get the text to a usable standard.

Do you need the original source text as well as the translation?

Yes — send both. A proofread against the source catches errors a read of the translation alone would miss.

Is machine-translated content clearly marked as such in your process?

We treat any text you flag as machine-translated with the same review rigor either way; flagging it just helps us set expectations on what light MTPE will and won’t fix.
