How pricing works
Priced per video minute (One minute of source runtime), multiplied by language tier and turnaround. See the full tier and turnaround tables and the language tiers in detail.
Process
Order & send the video
Choose your language pair and turnaround; after ordering, send the video file or a link, plus any existing script or transcript.
Assignment
A translator working in subtitling conventions for that language pair takes the job.
Timing & independent review
Subtitles are timed and line-length checked, then reviewed by a second linguist for accuracy and readability.
Delivery
You receive the subtitle file, or the burned-in video if you requested it.
Confidentiality & standards
Subtitles get checked for readability as well as accuracy — a second linguist reviews both the translation and the timing before delivery. Confidentiality is standard for unreleased content; an NDA is available on request. Quote requests for larger AV projects get a reply within one business day.
When to request a quote instead
Ask for a quote instead of ordering directly if you have:
- A series or multi-episode project
- Content requiring dubbing or voiceover rather than subtitles
- Source audio needing separate transcription first
- A language pair outside the three tiers
Subtitling & Audiovisual Translation FAQ
Do you need a script, or can you work from the video alone?
We can work from the video alone, but an existing script or transcript speeds up the process and reduces the chance of mishearing names or technical terms — send one if you have it.
What subtitle formats do you deliver?
.srt and .vtt as standard; burned-in (subtitles rendered directly onto the video) is available on request.
How is reading speed handled?
Lines are timed and split to a standard reading speed so viewers can read them in the time they’re on screen — an accurate subtitle that can’t be read in time still fails the viewer.
What if the video has on-screen text as well as dialogue?
Note it in your job note — we can include on-screen text (titles, captions, graphics) in the subtitle file or as a separate list, whichever suits your delivery.
